1899 Barcelona FC was founded: On the 29th of November 1899, Joan Gamper founded the Football Club Barcelona ( Barça). Gamper chose the famous blue and claret as the team colours for they are the colours of the Swiss canton he came from. 

1961 First U.S. Animal to Orbit the Earth: Enos, a 5-year-old chimpanzee, is launched aboard the Mercury-Atlas 5 satellite. He orbited the Earth twice making him the first U.S. animal to orbit the Earth and the world's first chimpanzee to orbit the Earth. 

1972 Atari Releases Pong: One of the very first arcade games to hit the market, Pong was a 1 or 2 player video game similar to tennis, where the goal is to use a paddle to hit a ball. Around 35000 Pong consoles were sold around the world. 

1877 Phonograph: Thomas Edison gives his first public demonstration of his talking machine. He recorded his recitation of Mary Had a Little Lamb onto a tinfoil cylinder and then played it back.

1935 France -- England / France Alliance: Great Britain had joined France in defense against Italy-given Italy were to attack. This determination included a warning sent by Premier Laval of France to the Italian Ambassador Vittoria Cerruti while he was in Paris. 

1946 First TV Sitcom: The first television sitcom, Pinwright's Progress, airs on British television on the BBC Television Service. It ran until May of the following year.
The show centered around J. Pinwright, played by James Hayter, the proprietor of a small shop, his staff, his rival, and Ralph a deaf octogenarian messenger boy.

1929 First Person to Fly Over the South Pole: American explorer Richard E. Byrd. For his achievement, Byrd was promoted to rear admiral by a special act of Congress. At 41 years old, this made him the youngest admiral in the history of the United States Navy.

1975 Graham Hill Death: On 29 November 1975, former 2x Formula One champion and team owner Graham Hill died when the Piper Aztec light aircraft he was piloting crashed near Arkley in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, while on approach to Elstree Airfield.
